Sean McGervey
Weaver of Memory, Magic, and Myth

About the Author
“When reality is shaped by memory, forgetting can unmake the world.”
Sean McGervey is an engineer, professor, and lifelong storyteller based in Maryland. When he’s not teaching systems engineering at Johns Hopkins or revising manuscripts late at night with a mug of jasmine tea, he spends his free time preventing world-ending catastrophes with his friends—via weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, of course.Whether guiding students through complex systems or crafting fantastical worlds filled with memory, myth, and quiet hope, Sean brings the same thoughtful precision and emotional depth to every story he tells. The Four-Tide Chronicles is his debut novel—an emotionally resonant, lyrical journey through sacrifice, becoming, and the threads that connect us.
Novels
The Four-Tide Chronicles
A lyrical fantasy about memory, identity, and the threads that hold us together.
In a world shaped by metaphysical tides and threads woven from memories, four strangers grapple with forgotten truths and unrealized paths. Each is shaped by one of the Four Tides—Joy, Remembrance, Virtue, and Ambition—and sees the world through a different lens, offering truths the others have yet to understand. As the threads of the Tapestry of Possibility begin to fray, memories vanish and futures collapse, as a mysterious figure known only as the Seeker unravels every thread not tied to their vision of a singular fixed future without free will or choice. To stop the Seeker, the four strangers must do more than survive—they must learn from one another, face what they fear most, and choose to become who they were always meant to be.From rooftop gardens to ruined cloisters, radiant stages to shadowed temples, The Four-Tide Chronicles weaves together lush worldbuilding, emotionally resonant arcs, and a magic system rooted in memory, sacrifice, and the strength of chosen connection. This genre-blending debut explores identity, found family, and the cost of forgetting.Genre: Lyrical high fantasy
Themes: Identity, becoming, found family, sacrifice, redemption, and the importance of memory.

📜Caeli’s D&D Character Sheet
Before she journeyed to Aurasterra, Caeli walked a different thread through D&D's Forgotten Realms—a path still unfolding through live storytelling. This character sheet is where her story began: a tarot-reading stargazer with secrets written in the sky.She was first introduced at the game table through a live in-character tarot reading for a mysterious hooded figure, revealed to be her future self. In the background of her sheet, you may even glimpse The Raven—a silent blessing from Velessa, the goddess of memory and becoming. This version of Caeli—played in an ongoing D&D campaign—still searches, still believes, still remembers forward.🎵 The Four-Tide Chronicles playlist
